The Scottish Government has introduced new rules and guidance aimed at staying safe and protecting others which will come into effect on Monday 27th December 2021. These new rules and guidance will affect how you will be able to use particularly the Club’s bar and catering facilities over the coming weeks:
From 27 December 2021:
- There must be one metre physical distance between groups of up to three households in all indoor and outdoor hospitality and leisure settings including bars and restaurants. This means that tables in the John Gray lounge, Tom Morris room and Charlie Hunter bar will require to be at least one metre apart unless those members using them are part of a group of a maximum of three households.
- For practical purposes this means that for example three couples could meet and have drinks and/or eat a meal together at the Club as part of one large table. Members who are not part of the same household will only be able to be seated at a table in a maximum of three’s.
- Table service will be required in establishments where alcohol is served for consumption on the premises. This will also extend to food service. So no matter whether you are sitting as part of a group of up to three households or part of a group of up to 3 individuals you will be required to order at the table even if no alcohol is being consumed.
- The one way system that was in place previously will be re-introduced shortly and members are urged to follow it as closely as possible. This means for example that the double doors into the John Gray lounge are for entry only and exiting the lounge should be through the Charlie Hunter bar. It is still a legal requirement to wear face coverings when moving about the Clubhouse and for track and trace purposes members’ and visitors’ contact details must still be collected on arrival.
- Grant will ensure there is an ample supply of hand sanitiser throughout the Clubhouse and members are encouraged to take a lateral flow test before coming into the Club.
- In other respects the previous guidance (July 19th) still applies
