Your Handicap Index is calculated from the average of your 8 best scores from your last 20 recorded scores, You need to download and register for the Scottish Golf app (iPhone or Android only). There is a link to the Scottish Golf website or you can download from the app store.
New golfers who have fewer than 20 registered scores are subject to different calculations. Details

The number of shots you have (Course Handicap) will be determined by the combination of your Handicap Index together with the Slope Rating for the course you are playing. You can look up your Course Handicap for Prestwick St Nicholas in the table.
For Medal Competitions (only) you will play to your Playing Handicap which is calculated for you as 95% of your Course Handicap
|
Every time you play in an official Medal or other Competition your score will be added to your eligible scores, so your previous twentieth score will cease to be an eligible score. If this score was a counting score (one of your best eight) then your handicap may go up (depending on your current round). Changes can sometimes be unpredictable if you do not follow your Handicap Calculation on the Scottish Golf app.
One of the major changes introduced with WHS is the option to also submit scores under General Play. Read how you can submit General Play scores to count towards your Handicap Index at any time over a measured course using the Scottish Golf App. Black, Red and Yellow tees are all available as measured courses at St Nicks
