May 3rd: Scottish Women's Open Marshalling
Trust Golf Women's Scottish Open - Dundonald Links - Thursday 28 to Sunday 31 July 2022. The Club has been invited to provide marshals for this event. If you are interested in assisting, then please follow the link in the attached letter and register as a volunteer marshal. For those of you who have assisted with marshalling at previous events, I am pleased to advise you that Robert McCormack has kindly agreed to assist me with the Hole Controlling duties. I have completed the registration process and it's fairly straightforward. If you do volunteer, could you please email me at david.coid@sky.com advising me you have you completed the registration process. This will allow me to create a list of club members who wish to be part of the team. There are marshalling duties on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th (practice days) and then the four Championship Days. The registration process is quite different to what we have been used to in the past, hence my request for you to advise me you have registered, but I am assured we will marshal as Club and will be allocated one or two holes, depending on the numbers who volunteer. If you have not volunteered before, please give it a go, it's great fun and to those who have marshalled previously, Robert and I look forward to seeing and working with you again. I will be in further contact as I receive more information from the organisers. Please note the registration deadline on the invitation letter - it is 8th May. Thank you! April 19th: Survey regarding BRS bookings
As you are probably aware, to comply with Track and Trace (Test and Protect) measures, for the last two years tee times could only be booked using the BRS tee booking system from the first available tee time. This system is no longer required due to the easing of Track and Trace regulations. The tee time booking system has now reverted to its former practice whereby early morning times are secured on a ‘Turn Up and Play’ basis. As indicated in the email from the Captain on 13 April, Committee now want to get the views of the members regarding tee time booking arrangements. Please find attached a survey form which I would ask you to complete and email back or hand in to the office by noon on Thursday 28 April 2022 at the latest. All forms returned will be treated in the strictest confidence. Please note that the attached form is only for those members with full playing rights, seven days per week. Associate members and others who do not have full playing rights will receive a different form relating to Monday to Thursday bookings only. |

April 5th: Prestwick Links
There has always been a great heritage and history with golf in Prestwick. One of the great amateur events is the “Prestwick Links” - The Nickson Trophy and Boyd Cup - which has been played for countless years over, St Nicholas, St Cuthbert and Prestwick courses. Sadly in recent years there has been an almost terminal decline in entrants. Last year Past Captain Neil and I met with the Captain and Vice-Captain of St Cuthbert to discuss this event. Both Clubs agreed that we should put more effort into promoting this great historic competition with a view to getting it back onto the forefront of amateur golfing events in Prestwick. Due to some technical difficulties our attempts at linking the respective clubs’ websites did not work. However, alternative booking arrangements have now been made. Our own booking system will now open up at 7pm tonight (5th April) for booking through the club’s website. To enter this open competition:-

March 29th: Tee Time Booking
As you may recall, due to the Social Distancing Rules brought in as a result of the Coronavirus Pandemic in March 2020, the use of the BRS on-line booking system to book a tee time has been mandatory 7 days a week from the first bookable time for the last two years. It was understood that this would be a temporary measure until Social Distancing Rules restrictions were lifted and thereafter the Tee time Booking arrangements for casual golf would revert to their former position whereby early morning tee times would be secured on a ‘Turn up and Play’ basis. As many of you will no longer be familiar with what this means I have attached the relevant section of the Rules and Regulations to this communication. Please note that whether you book a time on-line or on a ‘Turn Up and Play’ basis the names of all your playing partners must be entered ono the BRS booking system. The new arrangements will come into force with effect from Monday 11 April 2022 March 29th: No of bookings per week The restriction on the number of bookings a member may make per week is being totally lifted with effect from Monday 04 April. This will be reviewed when the Club moves into the winter season and the amount of available tee times is reduced due to available daylight. |
