A new year, a new season

Welcome to the 2022 Lent Season
9-Hole Formats: Your organisers have recently re-considered the practicality and use of 9 hole games and have concluded that it is normally impractical to combine regular simultaneous 18 and 9 hole events. We have, therefore, agreed that in future, 9 hole events will only be contemplated in the following circumstances:

• When prevailing weather conditions are very poor. The decision to offer a weather alternative will be made by your organisers on the day concerned. 
• If we have tee times available that would not allow full rounds to be completed because of failing daylight, players will be allocated to these as normal, but such games will take place out with the day's competition. These will be clearly shown on the draw sheet. It will be up to those concerned to decide how many holes they wish to play and the format of same.
• Due to the difficulty in getting tee times, the situation could arise in which some people are unable to get a game at all. Those unlucky few will be decided by ballot.

 
Pace of Play: We are regularly the subject of criticism by other members, and that could worsen when playing in fours. In order to maximise the pace of play, please remember that immediately you can’t score points, you should play no more shots:   i.e. lift your ball and walk on
 
Scorecards: It would be helpful if one card could be submitted per tee time with the game number (at the left hand side of the draw sheet) quoted. Each player’s name (printed) and handicap stated. Each column identified and each player’s strokes and Stableford points stated.
