Seniors Handicap Adjustments

4/11/2022

Hello Gentlemen,
As some of you already know, in the interest of fairness to all members, your organisers have reviewed the Seniors Handicap Adjustment system and reached the following conclusion. Please open the sample file attached below before proceeding.
  1. Handicaps notified to us by yourselves will, in future, be that issued in accordance with World Handicap System Index (WHSI). – You can obtain that record via HowDidIDo or via the Scottish Golf App. You may also be able to obtain it from the Handicap Book located in the Clubhouse near the Gents Notice Board on the Ground Floor (but I am not sure how often that book is updated).
  2. On the attached sheet, I have entered what I have been advised is your current WHSI handicap in the column. Please check that the record I have entered is correct.
  3. Would those of you who still have a current WHSI H/C where the cell is blank, please advise me at their early convenience.
  4. Those who do not have a current WHSI will be accommodated in the normal manner.
  5. Please note that there are 3 records in the CUT column where the individual has had a cut applied.
  6. The Playing Handicap column shows the handicap to be used by all players when playing with our group off the Yellow Tees.
CUTS
  1. The level of cuts are as follows:- Points 38 & 39 – 5% ; Points 40 & 41 – 10% ; Points 43 and above – 15%.
  2. Cuts will always be applied to the WHSI and should a player be cut on more than 1 occasion, then the cuts will be added before being applied to that. ( e.g. 5% + 5% + 10% = 20% )
  3. The Playing handicap column takes account of the course rating relative to the WHSI.
  4. These will apply to all future events played with us in the current 6 monthly session.

Record Sheet
A copy of the attached sheet will be issued to you all following the most recent “Counter” and will be used by the Professional Shop prior to our Monday Meetings. If, when playing with us, you forget what your handicap is, please consult me or the Professional when paying your £1.00. I hope that this covers all matters relating to this issue.
Kind regards,
Hugh
