Junior Open – 11/09/22.
You may recollect that, prior to Covid, our group helped our Junior Section by being a Sponsor of this event and, as we would like to encourage the development of our Junior Section’s golf, we will again be collecting and handing over money for that purpose. To that end, your organisers will have a box available on Monday mornings in August and will greatly appreciate any contributions made. Kind regards, Hugh

Hello Gentlemen,
Today 38 of us took part in our Double trouble event in what were rather windy conditions, to say the least and I am sure that most of us (self included!!) were rather tired on completion. Scoring was, to say the least, mixed and a lot of players scores were being multiplied by zero. However, the winning duo had a truly wonderful score which left the rest of us for dead. Results – In 1st place with 66 Points were Team 1 – Chandra Mahadik and Lester Wilson who will each be credited with £ 8.00. In 2nd place with 50 Points were Team 14 –Bill McKean and Mike McDougall who will each be credited with £ 5.00. In 3rd place with 44 Points were Team 4 – Gordon Arbuthnott and Hugh McKail who will each be credited with £ 3.00. You will note that the three winning teams are all 2 man teams. Your organisers are going to re-consider the %ge adjustment for 3 man teams etc. prior to this format being used again. We today received a donation of £1.00, so the remaining £7.00 will be added to the Prize Fund. Kind regards, Hugh Hello Gentlemen,
Today 37 of us enjoyed wonderfully hot weather, resulting in some very good scoring in our Texas Scramble. Scoring ranged between 56.5 and 66.3. Results: In 1st place with 56.5 - Team 11 – Comprising Lester Wilson, Jim Jackson and Jim Morrison who will each be credited with £ 5.00. In 2nd place with 58.2 - Team10 – Comprising Gordon Campbell, Hugh Hunter and and Andrew Henderson who will each be credited with £ 3.00. In 3rd place with 58.7 - Team 13 – Comprising Jim Campbell, Kenneth Wison, John Reynolds and Bill Rae who will each be credited with £ 2.00. The remaining £ 5.00 will be added to the prize fund. Kind regards, Hugh Hello again Gentlemen,
We had a fair old time of it today trying to fathom out the results inserted in some scorecards. That confusion deducted from the time available for other matters and resulted in our being rushed to complete our works timeously. It looks like one team’s excellent score did not reach the results page and I apologise for that. The corrected leader board and prize information is hereunder. In future please complete Scorecards as has been described many time before and if in doubt, check with an organiser before golfing and most certainly before handing in your card. Results: In 1st place with 48 points – Team 2A – Comprising Gordon Campbell and Alan Boyd, who will each be credited with £ 5.00. In 2nd place with 47 points – Team 4B – Comprising Andrew Henderson and Alasdair Stevenson, who will each be credited with £4.00. In 3rd place with 46 points – Teams 2B, 7B and 8B – Comprising Jim Wilson & Stuart Glasgow; and - Chandra Mahadik & Rob White; plus – George Brown and Lester Wilson who will each be credited with £2.00. The remaining £5.00 will be added to the Prize Fund. Kind regards, Hugh Hello Gentlemen,
Today 45 of us enjoyed fairly windy, mainly dry weather conditions for our monthly Counter. As you will see from the undernoted, scoring was fairly reasonable, considering the wind force. Results: In 1st place with 42 points – George Brown who will be credited with £ 8.00. In 2nd equal place with 39 points – were Alan Boyd, David Grant and Campbell Leckie who will each be credited with £ 6.00. In 3rd equal place with 36 points – Jim Jackson, Bernard Spalding and Jim Wilson who will each be credited with £ 3.00. The remaining £ 10.00 will be added to the prize fund. (which needed a little uplift!) Kind regards, Hugh |
